President Trump gathered cryptocurrency executives, crypto lobbyists, and their federal regulators at the White House on Wednesday to advance policies benefiting an industry that has become a major source of income for his family—including companies that directly do business with his crypto ventures.

Today’s session preceded the inaugural meeting of the CFTC Innovation Advisory Committee, or IAC, to be held Thursday—a 35-member body that includes not only crypto titans, but also prediction market companies with financial ties to Donald Trump Jr.

Many of the companies at today’s meeting have made large donations to the Trump–Vance inaugural committee, his super PAC MAGA Inc., or the White House ballroom project that is one of the president’s top priorities.
