Former President Donald Trump’s high-dollar joint fundraising committee, Trump 47 Committee, raised a hefty $118.5 million during the second quarter of the year, according to a new Federal Election Commission filing.
The donations poured in during the period covering April through June when Trump’s legal team was defending the former president in a New York criminal trial over 34 charges related to falsifying business records and concealing hush money payments, charges for which he was found on May 30 to be guilty.
The amount raised is a large increase over the $23.5 million that Trump 47 Committee raised in the first quarter of the year, though the committee was not formed until February 6.
