Former Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff has taken a job as a partner at the corporate law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher, the firm announced today. 

Emhoff, formerly a partner with the law and lobbying DLA Piper prior to the start of the Biden-Harris administration, will advise clients “on their most consequential business challenges, sensitive investigations, and complex litigation,” according to the announcement. Emhoff will be splitting his time between Los Angeles and New York.

Willkie Farr & Gallagher works with a broad swath of corporate clients and is well known for its representing businesses in the finance and private equity industries on mergers and acquisitions. For years it has worked with CVC Capital Partners, one of the largest private equity firms in the world, advising it on acquisitions involving companies like Bosch, Cooper Consumer Health, Viatris, and The Quality Group. Other large private equity firms that Willkie has worked with frequently over the years include Warburg Pincus and Bain Capital.
